Omega 8006 vs 8005
Omega 8005 vs 8006 Comparison
What is the difference between Omega 8006 and 8005 (aka Omega j8006 vs j8005)?
Today we will answer that question, and help you make the best buying decision.
At first glance, it seems like these two juicers are exactly the same, but there is more than meets the eyes.
Let’s First Look At The Design Differences.
Handle: While both models have black and chrome plated cover, there are subtle differences. First the handle on the Omega 8006 is built in. The handle on the Omega 8005 flips up. I prefer the built in handle of the 8006 because it looks better and it’s more sturdy.
Base: The Omega 8006 has a cover around the base of the unit. The Omega 8005 doesn’t have that. Again, I prefer the more Modern look of the 8006.
Food Tray: It’s hard to tell from the photos, but the food tray on the Omega 8006 is rounder and bigger. The food tray on the 8005 is more square and smaller. Bigger food tray makes it easy to collect berries and for when you are making nut butter…etc.
Juice Collector/Pulp Bin: While you can’t see it in the pictures, the Omega 8006 has bigger juice bowl and the pulp bin. It comes in very handy when you are trying to make large amount of juice.
Now Let’s Look At The Major Differences.
Auger: The auger on the Omega 8006 Juicer is made out of GE’s Ultem material, and it’s 8 time stronger than the 8005′s. It’s important to have a stronger auger because it takes the most punishment.
On/Off Switch Location: You won’t find this information on any other reviews. The switch on the Omega 8005 is on the top of the juicer. It might not sound like a big deal, but remember this: liquid and electronic devices don’t mix. When you make juice, there is a lot of liquid around. Whether from washing your hands, washing the veggies, or accidentally spilling the juice. It’s much easier for liquid to get in the switch and damage the juicer.
The Omega 8006 fixed that problem by putting the on/off switch on the back of the juicer, away from heavy traffic.
Warranty Length: The warranty on the Omega 8006 is 15 years, while the 8005 has only a 10 year warranty. This should be the biggest factor when when comparing these to juicers. A 10 year warranty is pretty good, but 15 years is the BEST in the juicer business.
Price: The Omega 8005 costs about $40 less than the Omega 8006.
You might think because the Omega 8005 costs a little bit less, it would be the more popular choice? That is not the case. Actually, more people buy the Omega 8006. I think the reason is pretty clear.
Here is why more people choose the Omega 8006:
- Better design: Both cosmetically and functionality wise.
- Better material: 8 times stronger auger.
- Better warranty: 15 years vs 10 years.
No need to spend hours trying to find the best deal. I’ve done all the work for you. I found the places that have the best price, free shipping, and no tax in most States.
Just a reminder, I wouldn’t wait too long to get your juicer. You might find it out of stock. Good luck.
